FireFighters - "Plural" That is important to remember. It means that this site is for any and all Fire Fighters in the United State or it's Territories.
The purpose of this site is to provide Fire Fighters a Community. Fire Fighting is a brotherhood which includes men, women and their families. Our goal is to provide as many services to YOU the Fire Fighter. From Discussion and Information to E-Mail, Blogs and Hosting.
Most of all, we want you to use and enjoy our site. Sure we may charge for certain items or features and ask for your donations. After all these things don't come cheap. But a lot of our site will remain free. We will also try to keep advertising to a minimum.
Lastly we keep your personal information private. Being an ex-Fire Fighter and ex-Police Officer I understand the need privacy.

If your department is intending to use fire trucks hooked up to fire hydrant to provide a mass decon shower - there is now " better mouse trap".
I have invented a systems that turns any standard fire hydrant into an instant shower. It puts out a shower that feels just like the one at home and uses a lot less wanter than a fire truck would.
Plus, once it is installed (just like connecting a hose) it takes no one to operate - thereby not requiring firefighters dressed only in basic turnout gear to mingle with contaminated victims.

Firefighters - this is your year!!
2006 commemorates the 2000th anniversary of the "fire service". Fire departments, as we know them today, are the direct descendants of the "VIGILES" that was created in 6 AD by the Roman Emperor Augustus.

Is it plausible to use the same method of dumping fire supressing materials and water on to forest fires from planes possible for the huge fires in New Orleans that are threatening to overtake the city?
Marcus Weems
Dallas, Texas
I have also proposed to the Texas governor, and the mayors of Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio that they caravan the empty school buses during the holiday weekend filled with bottled water and relief supplies to New Orleans enabling them to caravan the vitims out to the areas being set up for them in the relief effort.
